My cat just died

A few days ago he snuck out wile we were sleeping and we found him dead in my neighbors pool. I haven't been able to sleep. I can't bring myself to do anything really. I know that there was nothing I could have done to stop him. And I's even worse sinse he was just nine months old. I can't bring myself to get another cat. Im just hoping that the greaf passes quickly.
